Job Description: Split Duties 

We are looking for a self-motivated qualified electrical worker who is willing to be hands-on with our field services, safety and training groups. This position consists of working with National Field Services as well as a Local School District. You will work for the School District 187 days a year teaching Young Minds whom want to get into the Electrical Field, and with National Field Services for the remainder of the year. You will start working under the direction of our training and safety manager. This job is typically local to the DFW area but does include some travel for short durations (one week or less) throughout the year. Job duties will include:

  • Teaching NCCER electrical related courses including electrical safety
  • Assisting the training manager in course development efforts
  • Acting as a safety officer on occasion
  • Providing light electrical maintenance at our facility when needed
  • Providing electrical testing and maintenance supplemental support on occasion
  • Assisting in the training of electrical technicians and engineers for selected topics
  • Assisting with procurement and inventory of both safety and operational supplies and materials
  • Develop and implement lesson plans that fulfill the district's curriculum program and written evidence of preparation is required
  • Prepare lessons that will accommodate different Learning styles of the student
  • Present the subject matter according to NCCER and TEA board policies and administrative regulations
  • Conduct assessment of student learning styles and use results to plan instructional activities
  • Work with other members of the Staff at National and the School District to determine instructional goals, objectives, and methods according to the district and National Requirements
  • Plan and supervise assignments of the teacher aid(s) and volunteer(s)

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • To qualify for consideration, you must meet each of the following:
  • Current Journeyman license as a minimum
  • Other credentials such as a Master Electrician License, NETA certification, NICET certification, bachelor’s degree will be considered on a case by case basis
  • Experience or credentials with NCCER is a plus, especially as an instructor
  • Familiar with NFPA 70E Standard for Electrical Safety in the Workplace
  • Must be passionate about teaching others
  • A willingness to be hands-on and work in the field with engineering technicians
  • Must be able to clearly communicate in English via verbal and written methods, and be comfortable and effective doing so directly with customers and co-workers
  • Computer skills, including, but not limited to, Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Must be able to crawl, climb, stand and lift up to 50 lbs., with or without reasonable accommodations
  • Must have a valid driver’s license, and currently have and be able to maintain a good driving record
  • Must be available for periodic to continuous domestic travel
