Training Makes All the Difference for New National Technicians

The National family of companies includes the National Training Center (NTC), a National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER) Accredited Training Sponsor. Through the NTC our industry experts deliver open enrollment electrical and safety training, and create training developed specifically to client needs. It also offers National a unique advantage in the development of our own personnel.

In this video National Field Services Environment, Health and Safety Manager Steve Newton explains the industry-wide problem of the influx of new, unqualified talent without the experienced senior personnel needed to mentor them. He also talks about how we use the NTC to address that problem here at National, and how this benefits our employees and clients.

Steve Newton, SET, is a subject matter expert for the National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies (NICET), a certified National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER) Instructor, a Master Trainer for the Instructor Certification Training Program, and is a certified Level IV Senior Engineering Technician in electrical power testing. He is a certified instructor for Electrical, Instrumentation, Electronic, Solar and various Power curriculums. He holds several professional memberships, including IEEE and NFPA, and is actively involved in the review and development of materials for the electrical industries.
