Title: National Switchgear and National Field Services Implement Company-Wide Green Initiative as Part of 25th Anniversary

Green Initiative

Lewisville, TX (August 9, 2011)- National Switchgear (NSG) and National Field Services (NFS) have teamed up to initiate an aggressive environmental plan as part of NSG’s 25thanniversary activities this year.

The “Green Team” consists of representatives from each major department in the two companies and includes Doug Powell, CEO of NSG and NFS, who is the initiator of the program. The Green Team will oversee current and future goal implementation.

“Remanufacturing is already a greener solution”, explained Powell. “Our company conserves up to 85% of the material and energy required to produce the same product as new, and it’s cost-effective. Remanufactured components are 40% to 60% the cost of new.”

Some of the green initiatives being implemented this year include individual workspace recycle bins, larger bins at designated community areas, and new eco-friendly drinking water dispensers to eliminate the need for plastic water bottles.

In just one month of participation this recycling program has kept 620 pounds out of the local landfill. NSG plans to track this type of data for publication on the benefits of going green.

Future plans vary in magnitude and complexity, but all are designed to make a positive impact on the environment, help reduce the carbon footprint of both companies, and increase employee job satisfaction and wellbeing.Immediate goals include a volunteer community garden for employees to grow organic produce of their choice.
