Workers Make Errors, but There Are Tools to Help
Human Performance – a concept that argues people make mistakes and tools exist to help prevent or mitigate those mistakes – has been a fixture in industries such as nuclear and aviation for some time now. And it’s probably no coincidence that the aviation industry marked a notable safety milestone in 2017: no fatal crashes of a U.S. passenger airline (in fact, there have been none since 2009), and ten airline accidents worldwide, resulting in 79 fatalities—the first year with fewer than 100 deaths since 1946.

Once again there are many significant changes such as a major reorganization of Article 120, the introduction of many new definitions, an even greater emphasis on the Risk Assessment, moving the hierarchy of risk control methods to mandatory language and the deletion of the informational note containing the 40 cal/cm2 reference.

National Acquires SouthWest Electritech Services
Nevada-based provider of third-party testing joins the National family. The move will expand National’s services to more Western state customers as well as new industries.
